ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEWLY REVISED FEDERAL CMS REGULATIONS?
Presented by: Jennifer Krupa, CADDCT, ACC/EDU, CDP, AC-BC
and Lori Presser, BSHA, ADC, CDP, CMP, CEAL
CMS released its first major overhaul of the Rules for Participation into the Medicare program in over 30 years. This is being rolled out in 3 phases with the bulk of the changes becoming effective November 28, 2017. In this phase, the Federal Tags for long term care were not only rewritten but also renumbered. Activity programming has been written into over 50 Federal tags in some fashion. We will explore many tags beyond F-tag 679; Activity Programming and F-Tag 680 Qualification of the Activity Director. CMS also created a new survey process to begin this year. This session will provide you with the tools necessary to ensure you are prepared as well as suggested action steps one might take towards compliance.
