-Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs.
-Oversee residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote physical, social, and psychological well-being; observe attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that activities and progress are evaluated.
-Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.
-Involve the resident in planning activity programs when possible.
-Befriend residents to encourage resident self-esteem by visiting and conversing with them on a regular basis.

-Implement procedures as directed by the Life Enrichment Director by creating decorations, setting up necessary equipment, creating crafts, escorting residents to and from activity area, and awarding prizes.
-Drive residents to/from activities and appointments as requested/coordinated by the Life Enrichment Director.
-Attend meetings to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
-Assist in developing a written plan for each resident's activity program as requested and encourage resident participation in the plan.
-Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for the resident.
-Develop and maintain a good rapport with all services to ensure that a team effort is achieved in developing a comprehensive plan of care.
Hours of Position: Part Time Hours 20-22 a week, every other weekend, holidays, and some evenings
Regina Health Center is a CMS Five-Star rated, mission-based nursing facility in Richfield, Ohio currently seeking a full-time Activities Assistant. This position reports to the Director of Activities and supports activities programs for skilled nursing and assisted living residents. Full-time schedule varies and includes rotating weekends and holidays. Candidates must demonstrate compassionate care and the ability to interact with residents to encourage participation according to individual plan of care needs. Prior long-term care experience is a must and an accredited activity certification is preferred.

In accordance with the mission and values of The Village at St. Edward, the Activities Assistant assists in organizing, directing and carrying out a program of activities which covers spiritual development, recreation, diversion, intellectual/educational development for residents as an integral part of total resident care.

� Specific knowledge of Microsoft Word, Print Master and Internet Explorer. Use a range of information technology applications to fulfill the requirements of the position, produce necessary reports accurately and timely, and/or improve the functionality of the department as a whole.
� Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
� Possess the necessary dexterity to assist with board games, activities, etc.
